The Birth of Brenderella: Giving My Craft a Home (And My Mouth a Blog)

If you’ve been here for a minute, you know the vibe. CraftinAssBlkGrl is where I share the realness—the failed engraves, the late-night Cricut marathons, the "I’d rather be left alone with a Symphony bar" moments, and the truth about being an empathetic human in a chaotic world.

​But as I’ve been growing this "hustle," I realized something: the personality and the product needed their own rooms in the house.

​Why the Split?

​I love being the "Crafting Ass Black Girl." It’s me. It’s my voice. It’s how I move. But when it comes to the physical designs I’m putting out into the world—the vinyl, the faux leather, the custom pieces—I wanted a name that carried a different kind of weight.

​I needed a brand that felt like a legacy.

​Meet Brenderella Designs

​The name Brenderella isn’t just a "fairytale" play on words. It’s a tribute to the two women who made me who I am: my mom, Brenda, and my grandma, Stella.

​By naming the shop side of my brand after them, I’m putting their names on every label I ship out. It’s a way to keep them in the room while I’m creating. It’s soft, it’s friendly, and it’s full of that "just added love" energy.

​What Changes? (Spoiler: Not Much, But Everything)

​Here is how I’m breaking it down moving forward:

​CraftinAssBlkGrl: This is still your home for the "how-to," the "why-the-hell-did-I-try-that," and the deep dives into my life as a maker. It’s the blog, the personality, and the community.

​Brenderella Designs: This is the storefront. When you see the new bubbly, forest green and gold logo, you know you’re looking at finished products, SVG files, and the design-heavy side of what I do.

​Same Sparkle, New Structure

​I’m still the same person who treats people exactly how they move and tries to understand every perspective. But now, I have a dedicated space to honor my family and a dedicated space to run my mouth.
